RMIT University Foundation Studies Scholarships
RMIT University will be offering 12 scholarships, valued at AUD $6,000 each, to students in 2009 intakes of Foundation Studies. The scholarships are available to students from all countries and may be awarded to students in any Foundation Studies stream. The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and a scholarship application.
Please note that RMIT International College will be publishing details of successful scholarship applicants. Therefore, all successful applicants must consent to having their photograph and name published in printed and electronic promotional material.
Commencing students who wish to apply for the scholarship are invited to submit the scholarship application form (PDF 40kb) together with their application for a Foundation Studies program. The scholarship application form should be completed and attached to the application for Foundation Studies. Students who have already applied for a 2009 Foundation Studies program may also submit a scholarship application form by sending, taking or faxing it to:

SINGAPORE SCHOLARSHIP 2009/2010
SINGAPORE SCHOLARSHIP INVITATION FOR APPLICATIONS ACADEMIC YEAR 2009/2010
The Singapore Government awards the scholarship to Government-endorsed students from the other member countries of the ASEAN. Each Scholarship is for a full-time undergraduate degree course at the Nanyang Technological University, the National University of Singapore and the Singapore Management University. All disciplines except for Medicine and Dentistry are open to Scholars. The duration of each scholarships is for three or four years, depending on the discipline.
The award based on academic merit and places will allocated by open competition. If necessary, a one-year bridging or foundation programme, in addition to the undergraduate studies, will be provided.
To be eligible, a candidate must:
- Be a citizen in an ASEAN country (Except Singapore)
- Possess excellent academic records; and
- Have a good command of English
Candidates must meet the entry requirements for Nanyang Technological University, National University of Singapore, and Singapore Management University. A recipient of the Scholarship may not concurrently hold any other Scholarship, Fellowship, Grant or Award without prior approval of the Singapore Government. The Scholars are also expected to return to their countries upon graduation to contribute to the development of their countries.
The scholarship will cover tuition fees for the duration of the award, a living allowance of S$4,300 per annum, an accommodation allowance based on the different room rates at each university and one return economy class air ticket passage from his/her home country to Singapore for the duration of studies.
Applications must be endorsed and submitted by the Indonesian Department of National Education (Bureau of Planning and Foreign Cooperation) at Building C, 6th Floor, Jl. Jend.Sudirman, Senayan, Jakarta Pusat. Candidates are required to produce the following :
- Certificate, endorsement by the former school, for graduated applicants;
- Recommendation from the school principal, for applicants who are still in Grade 3 at SMU.

LippoBank Scholarship 2008 Intake
Thus, LB invites applications from high school graduates who wish to pursue bachelor program in the specialty areas of trade, finance, economic, accounting, computer sciences, mathematics, statistics and law.
The scholarship grant will be based on the merits of the applicant, including academic classes and school extracurricular activities. However, in order to provide opportunities for those who could face difficulties in financing their higher education, special attention will be given to applications from students who come from disadvantaged families financially.
LB Scholarship Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
(I) must be Indonesian citizens;
(Ii) should complete the application form;
(iii) grade point average to the National average result and points for the secondary school exam result should be 8.00 or higher;
(iv) should be able to prove that they are from disadvantaged families financially, showing an official letter from poverty, from local authorities and home electricity bill;
(c) do not currently receive any scholarship or other equivalent award;
(Vi) English;
(vii) must comply with all rules and regulations imposed by LB in connection with the programme of scholarships;
(viii) Accepted applicants must be willing to participate in any LB programmes and activities, such as the internship program at LB or any of its subsidiaries;
(x) Scholarship recipients are prohibited to work during the entire period of study.

II. Coverage of scholarships:
The scholarship covers the following:
(I) registration fee at the university, at which the recipient of scholarship students;
(ii) tuition fees, duration of training, not more than 4 (four) years, or 8 (eight) academic semester or less depending on the selected program. LB is not obliged to provide any additional funding or other assistance should scholarship recipient does not finish the course in time;
(iii) Living allowance to cover living expenses during the entire period of study;
(Iv) leadership allowance needed for research;
(c) Internet manual for access to the Internet for study purposes;
(Vi) personal computer;
(vii) study aids needed for the final year of study.
III. Payment of scholarship funds:
Scholarship funds should be allocated in the following agreements:
(I) tuition fees must be paid directly to the relevant University;
(ii) Others should be allocated directly to the recipients of scholarships.
Payment of such scholarship funds to be scholarship recipient possibilities:
(I) maintain a satisfactory academic constantly, and
(ii) perform all necessary functions and responsibilities.
IV. Vacation from school
Save for school holidays, scholarship recipients will not accept any interruption in the educational activity without obtaining prior written approval from LB.
V. PENALTIES
(I) if any of the recipients of scholarships decides to withdraw from the fellowship programme, such scholarship recipient must reimburse all funds spent and return all facilities provided during his / her participation in LB in the scholarship programme, including, but not limited to a personal computer;
(ii) any breach of duty, responsibility and any other requirements imposed by LB subject to penalty to be determined by LB and / or termination of funding scholarships.
VI. Duties and responsibilities
Throughout the period of training, scholarship recipient must:
(I) will be ready to comply with all rules and regulations established by LB, as well as university;
(ii) be willing to attend and participate in all LB scholarship or collection activities;
(iii) to take part in LB human capital development programmes, and
(iv) report on the academic and non-academic progress of LB quarterly.
After graduation, scholarship recipients must join LB Alumni Association and actively participate in the program and activities.
VII. TERMINATION scholarship
The fellowship programme should be stopped at the emergence of one of the following:
(I) scholarship recipients completed the training course;
(ii) scholarship recipient refuses or has no ability to continue training in the relevant University;
(iii) scholarship recipient violates or does not perform any of the functions, responsibilities and requirements;
(iv) scholarship recipient is unsuccessful in order to meet the necessary level of achievement;
(c) the recipient of scholarships is proven, provided incorrect or misleading information in the application form or its supporting documents, or
(vi) scholarship recipient is involved in any illegal activities.
VIII. OBLIGATION TO WORK
(I) during the period of training, scholarship recipients must be willing to participate in the internship programme at LB.
(ii) after completion of the usual programs, scholarships recipients are forced to work at LB and / or his affiliation period for 4 consecutive years, subject to the availability of work in LB and / or his affiliation.

KAUST Discovery Scholarship 2008
The KAUST Discovery Scholarship is a general scholarship program King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). This program is designed to ensure that any very talented students who had reason and the right to enroll in a KAUST will receive full financial support, while at university. Those who receive scholarships Discovery receive the full support of learning, living stipend, a summer enrichment programs and career.
KAUST will offer Discovery Scholarships to all KAUST students – an exceptional level of support intended to attract gifted and talented students from Saudi Arabia and from other countries around the world.
KAUST will offer a pre-enrollment version of this general scholarship program to students attending first-university or bachelor’s degree programs. KAUST will provide financial support to pre-enrollment Discovery Scholarship recipients at their home institutions prior to the University’s opening. Upon graduation, these students will enter KAUST as master’s degree students in September 2009 and 2010 to complete their graduate studies on a fully funded scholarship.
Recipients of the KAUST Discovery Scholarship represent future leaders in science, engineering and technology.

- For the remainder of your first university or bachelor’s degree program of study, you will receive:

Eligibility

- 550 TOEFL PBT or 213 TOEFL CBT, 79-80 iBT, or 6.0 on the IELTS for non-native English speakers
- Proven research interest and/or leadership potential
- Ability to enter a master’s program at KAUST in September 2009 or after
- A minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and a minimum major-field-of-study GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent
- 80 credit hours completed, or equivalent by the end of 2008

Requirements of the Discovery Scholarship
- Agreement to matriculate at KAUST following completion of your first university degree (bachelor’s).
- Participation in KAUST-sponsored enrichment activities that include an award ceremony, a workshop in home region, and a conference in Saudi Arabia
- Obtaining necessary documents for travel outside of the your home country (KAUST will assist with travel documents for entrance into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia)
- Maintenance of the highest academic standards and results at your current university through graduation
- Return of the signed copy of the KAUST Discovery Scholarship Terms and Conditions upon acceptance
- Copies of the first three (3) pages of your international travel documents, which should include your photograph, birth date, location of birth, and expiration date of your travel documents

DAAD German Studies Research Grant
These specialized DAAD program provides up to five German Studies Research scholarships to qualified undergraduate and graduate students who are nominated by their department / program chairs. The grant can be used for short-term research (one to two months), either in North America or in Germany.
The program was designed to research and promote the exploration of the cultural, political, historical, economic and social aspects of modern and contemporary affairs of a German inter-and multidisciplinary perspective.

Criteria: Eligibility Requirements:
From the master’s level graduate students in humanities and social sciences or earning a certificate to work on a project in German studies can be nominated for the award by their department and / or the program director. Applicants must have completed a minimum of three courses in German Studies (literature, history, politics, and other areas) at the time of appointment.
Doctoral Students in the humanities and social science disciplines in the process of preparing their thesis proposals on German modern subjects may be nominated. Students whose memory of proposals have already been officially accepted are not eligible for nomination. The intent of the program is to provide an opportunity for short-term exploratory research to determine the viability or the scope of their proposals dissertations. The program is not intended to supplement or replace the groundwork for doctorate abroad, which should lag behind in search of short-term stay at least one semester.
All applicants must have completed two years of college-level German language studies. Applicants must be aged under 32 at the beginning of the grant period.
The grants are limited to United States citizens who are enrolled full time at the university, which appoints them.
Includes: Search help with a value of $ 1500 to $ 2500 is available to individual scholars and aims to offset travel and living during the phase of active research. Support may be granted for stays in Germany as part of programs for study abroad.

De Montfort University: Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarships 2008
De Montfort University is committed to supporting international students to benefit from study in the United Kingdom. For courses starting in September 2008, De Montfort University’s Vice-Chancellor is pleased to offer scholarships to 2,000 pounds each.
The scholarships are for 2000 pounds equivalent to a reduction of approximately 20% of the total fees, and will be paid for the entire cost of tuition for foreign students, the status of any country in the World who wish to study at one of the following types of courses at the De Montfort University, Leicester:
- Full-time undergraduate (BA / BSc) in any of the object
- Full-time post-Diplomas and Masters courses (PGDip / MA / MSc / MBA / LLM) in any discipline
- Full-time MPhil / PhD research degrees in any subject
Scholarships are available for courses beginning in September 2008 only (ie between September 2008 and June 2009 for MPhil / PhD research degrees).
The award of £ 2000 will be a one-off payment and will be deducted from the full cost of tuition at the beginning of the first (or only) grade.
Students move through DMU of one of our systems or progression established collaborative partnerships can also apply for these grants, if they wish.
Only the status of foreign students are eligible.
We will award up to 16 x £ 2000 scholarships for courses above from September 2008. There will be a limited number of scholarships offered by the faculty:
- Faculty of Art and Design: up to 3 scholarships
- Faculty of Business and Law: up to 3 scholarships
- Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering: up to 5 scholarships
- Faculty of Health and Life Sciences: up to 2 scholarships

Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of the submission of a 500 word essay, which will be written by the applicant and evaluated DMU group representatives (each faculty will have his own team).

All successful applicants who have received scholarships will be notified by e-mail and letter (regular mail) on September 1, 2008. In 2000 pounds scholarships will be deducted from the total tuition fee of successful applicants, when you arrive for training at DMU. Details of successful recipients will be available from Maria Kyrris at internationalscholarships@dmu.ac.uk after September 10, 2008, if required.
Application Rule
- Overseas-only status of the students can apply for scholarships.
- Both self-funded and sponsored students have the right to apply for participation.
- No cash alternatives will be offered scholarships and can not be transferred to any other time, the DMU, or other designated recipient.
- Only in September 2008, entry (or between September 2008 and June 2009, for research applicants) - scholarships, could not be deferred to a statement in September 2009 or later.
- For foreign students, who are also entitled to a 5% discount for early payment of their assessed contributions in full to students, in 2000 to £ Scholarship will be deducted from the first full fee, a 5% discount from the fee reduction.
- These scholarships will not be awarded in conjunction with any other awards, such as scholarships for graduates of 2008 - students can only receive a stipend DMU, usually a greater cost.
- If an applicant is available scholarships, and then withdraw their application, or not enrolled in a course, for any reason, loss of scholarships.
- The University reserves the right to withdraw fellowship, or not to provide scholarships, at any time before they are distributed.

American Indonesian Exchange Foundation is pleased to announce availability of the 2009-2010 Fulbright Scholarships to study in the United States. Grants are competitive, comprehensive, and generally cover tuition and fees, textbook allowance, monthly maintenance, international airfare and health insurance. - Doctoral Dissertation Research Program
This research grant is intended to provide U.S. research opportunities to Indonesian university doctoral candidates who are in the final stages of writing their dissertation. The grant duration is for a period of three to six months. Applicants should have a minimum TOEFL score of 575 to participate in this program.

- This research grants benefits Indonesian scholars who have a doctoral degree or equivalent professional qualifications. The grant affords Indonesian scholars the opportunity to conduct research in the U.S. for a period of three to six months. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate sufficient English language proficiency to conduct research in the U.S.

- Foreign Language (Bahasa Indonesia) Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program
The program is for one academic year (9 months) and requires the grantee to teach Bahasa Indonesia at U.S. universities for up to 20 hours per week and to enroll in at least two U.S. studies and/or ESL methodology classes per semester under a full tuition waiver.

The Fulbright Visiting Specialists Program provides grants for Indonesian scholars and practitioners to conduct intensive three or six week programs of teaching, lecturing and public outreach on topics in Islamic civilization and developments in the Muslim world. Participants may be in field of Islamic and area studies, political science, international relations, business and economics, history, women’s studies, journalism, sociology, religion, literature, anthropology, and the arts.
